Black Mist Burnt Country 2016

October 04, 2016 by ADi

I am pleased to announce I am part of the Black Mist Burnt Country national touring exhibition.

The show opened by Ben Quilty in Sydney to mark the 60th anniversary of the first atomic test at Maralinga at the SH Ervin National Trust Gallery, The Rocks and will be touring most states over the next 3 years. The Exhibit features a huge array of leading past and present Australian artists.

In total, seven nuclear bomb blasts were detonated between 1956 and 1967 in the southern part of the Great Victoria Desert in South Australia followed by more than 600 'minor tests'.

An interview with curator JD Mittman and the fabulous Fran Kelly of Radio National can be heard via this link:

The Australian Political Clown

October 27, 2015 by ADi

And this week the man himself 'Barnaby Joyce' takes out the political imbecile award after the great Fran Kelly from RN Breakfast - ABC brought the best out of this foolish fellow(which is not hard at the best of times), his comments on processed meat defy his past ill informed and misguided ideals and beliefs, and I quote:

"If you got everything the World Health Organisation says is carcinogenic and took it out of your daily requirements, umm, well you are kind of heading back to a cave"… Fran Kelly mentioned plenty of people don't eat meat at all and they are not cave people. Barnaby went on to say - "And if you don't eat meat at all its not a case that you can just agh, you know, we, agghh, have the capacity too live in an environment where we live on a complete vegetarian diet, for instance if you, we have sheep that live out in our western districts Fran, ah, they live in Mulga rangelands, you can't actually take with cropping but you can actually get a protein return for consumption from them, if we are saying that the only thing your going to have is a vegetarian diet you are going to completely change our capacity to umm, of what we grow and where we grow, cause you can't just grow vegetarian produce anywhere you can grow it in selected areas. The ramblings of a dimwit.

And yes Barnaby is the Australian Agricultural Minister! And yes it would not be ill informed to suggest maybe he is not from the planet earth. Seriously you would not leave these guys in charge of running a bath that alone a country....
